Creating a Put In Order Game
In Put In Order, players must place a group of items in their correct order. Go ahead and explore a few examples:
The key to making a successful game is having a column of data with the items you would like to put in order and another column of data that tells how to do it. In this list of World's Largest Airports, the Airport column contains the names of the airports that we want to arrange in order, and the Rank (2013) column tells us what the order should be.
Here’s how you turn this into a game:
And here, again, is the resulting game: Airports in Order
In addition to ordering items by number, you can order items by date. Using this data set on Walt Disney Animated Movies, we can make a game where we order Disney movies by their release date. We can use the Poster column to represent the movies, and the Release Date column to represent the dates.
Try out the resulting game: Put Disney Films in Order
And here's how this game was made:
Now it’s your turn. Give it a try and have fun!
