Creating a Fact Grid Game

This page describes how to make a game. For more general help on making games on Sugarcane, please read How to Make a Game.

In Fact Grid, players see several different facts displayed together and must type the corresponding items for each one. Go ahead and explore a few examples:

The key to a successful game is to have a column that will make good clues for the items players have to type. Using this list of Periodic Table Elements, we can make a game where the Symbol serves as the clue: the player sees several symbols and must type the Element Name that corresponds to each.

Here’s how you turn this into a game:

And here, again, is the resulting game: Type the Element Name

Fact Grid can be fun with multiple columns providing facts for the grid. With the data set on Greek Deities, we can make a game where the user sees either the Roman name or the Deity of description, and must type the corresponding Greek name for each fact.

Try out the resulting game: Name the Greek Deities

And here's how this game was made:

Now it’s your turn. Give it a try and have fun!
